Head of the Iranian Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization Ali Reza Bayat said that during the past two weeks, 42,372 Iranian pilgrims were dispatched to the Arab country via 177 flights.
He made the remark during a visit to the international airport in Jeddah.
He said out of those flights, 148 were operated by Iran Air, while the remaining 29 were operated by the Saudi airline Flynas.
The transfer of Hajj pilgrims to Saudi Arabia will continue until May 31, he noted.
Regarding the status of medical care for Iranian pilgrims in Mecca and Medina, he said that in the first 15 days of the Hajj operation, 14,757 outpatient visits of pilgrims were recorded at the medical centers of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization, and 39 pilgrims required hospitalization for additional services, for which the necessary measures have been taken to improve their condition.

Hajj is a pilgrimage to the holy city of Mecca that every able-bodied and financially able Muslim is obliged to undertake at least once during their lifetime.
The annual pilgrimage is regarded as one of the pillars of Islam and the largest act of mass pilgrimage in the world. It is also a demonstration of Muslims’ unity and their submission to Allah.
